The National Best Practice Unit Tackling Indigenous Smoking and the Smoking Research Unit at the Brain & Mind Centre, University of Sydney have organised a series of Nicotine Addiction and Smoking Cessation workshops, conducted by Associate Professor Renee Bittoun.
This course is suitable for people who work in healthcare and public health, but is particularly targeted at Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) workers. TIS workers will gain in-depth knowledge and skills in nicotine addiction and smoking cessation to assist them in their work.
Key content covered will discuss causes, consequences, treatment and research of smoking cessation, nicotine addiction and appropriate evidence based smoking cessation techniques in practical application. The aim is to improve the implementation and evaluation of programs in smoking cessation.
This three day course will include a USB stick with course materials and a certificate of attendance will be awarded to everyone who attends all sessions.
