PATSIMS training workshop - Broome

Event Details

  • This free Preventing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternal Smoking (PATSIMS) workshop training is for maternal and child health workers and tobacco health service professionals. The workshops aims to develop knowledge acquisition skills on health issues that are particularly relevant to pregnant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who smoke tobacco, their families and their communities. The training will equip health workers, both to use the most recent health information in their own practice, and to promote effective health strategies for their clients.

The training provides participants the opportunity to access the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet web resource and in particular the PATSIMS portal through search and case studies activities using topic-specific information, key facts, health resources, practice guides, policies, programs, and organisations relevant to their work.

The training is presented by the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet and hosted by the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service.
