Perth forum - Family Matters

Event Details

  • In Western Australia, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children make up only 5% of the total number of children aged 0-17 years, yet comprise 49.5% of all children in out-of-home care.

In partnership with Yorganop and the WA Council of Social Service, SNAICC is conducting a public forum on this important issue impacting on thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families. You are invited to be part of the movement to change the lives of these children by sharing your experiences as a practitioner, service provider or client of the child protection system in Western Australia.

Hon Ken Wyatt, Member for Hasluck, will be opening the forum and the Minister for Child Protection, Hon Helen Morton will join for the final plenary session and will also close the event.
